BF6 Players Agree: Challenges Are Way Too Hard
The launch of the much-awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over several of the title's hardest challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.
Players have started using tailored sessions created through the Portal feature to finish these tasks, underscoring just how demanding these assignments have become.
Understanding Battlefield 6 Assignments
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, as opposed to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. There are four categories of assignments, but while the majority only reward outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the exclusive means of getting 12 of the 41 main guns available in the game.
A number of these locked weapons may soon find their way on rosters of the finest arms in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash across Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This mission is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at extremely close range, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that task would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Ridiculously Tough Mission
Another Reddit user highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, within the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles
This is difficult enough as it is, but there's another important point to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but given there are merely nine levels in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and possibly a classic map in a best-case scenario if you plan to engage from afar from over 200m away.
The Alternative Method
However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, including AI opponents. This implies you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the spirit of the game.
But when tackling the tasks in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for finishing these in a custom game so allies are not impaired?
Upcoming Tweaks
It is expected if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the coming days or weeks, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the restricted guns.
At the moment, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these challenging multiplayer missions, expecting a more balanced overall gameplay in coming revisions.
